The Altus Kiwanis Club

"Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers
dedicated to changing the world
one child and one community at a time."

Welcome to the Altus Kiwanis Club web site.  As one of the Altus community's leading service organizations, we are dedicated to meeting the needs of young children.  As you can see by our Mission statement below, we are also dedicated to meeting the needs of our members.

MISSION

The Altus Kiwanis Club enables business and community leaders to invest in their community, and to grow personally and professionally.

Member Driven ~ Kiwanis welcomes the varying and diverse contributions of time, talent and treasure of each member. Kiwanians are proud of their history and the contributions Kiwanis makes to the community.

Well Informed ~ The Altus Kiwanis Club is the place for members to discover more about their community.

Engaged in the Community ~ Kiwanians organize and support community projects that improve the lives of young children.

Enduring Friendships ~ Kiwanians value the friendships built in the club and enjoy networking and fellowship during weekly meetings.

Embraces Diversity ~ Members appreciate diverse opinions and beliefs, and welcome an inclusive membership.  They value the unique contribution of each member.

The Altus Kiwanis Club was very proud to sponsor their 74th Little Olympics on Thursday, May 7th, 2009 on the athletic field at Altus Junior High.  Children from each of the elementary schools competed in many different areas just as their great grand parents did many years ago.  Our Little Olympics is just one of many ways the Altus Kiwanis Club seeks to promote the health and welfare of the children of our community.  Congratulations to all of the children who competed.  Regardless of the results, they are all winners to us!

To see more photos from the competition, click on the Photos link at the top of this page, then look for '2009 Little Olympics' in the drop down box.
